Generation of Faces

Stories of women, told by women, have always inspired me. Now in my mid-40s, I reflect on the women in my family—four generations bound by courage and change: my grandmother, my mother, myself, and my daughter. Though our lives span different eras, we are united by our shared resilience, similar features, and petite body structure.

In this ceramic sculpture series, hair becomes a symbol of our bond. The strands, intertwined, represent the unbreakable ties linking us across generations. This work celebrates our shared journeys and the expanding opportunities each generation has embraced. It honors the women in my family and the paths we’ve created together.
